Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my child needs speech-language therapy?
Contact us today! The initial phone call is free and we can discuss your current concerns and questions re: your child’s speech and language development, as well as provide recommendations for potential future services.
Where are services provided?
We come to you! Services are provided in the child’s home, their private school, or their daycare centers (when appropriate and approved by the school/center).
We do also offer telehealth services via HIPAA-compliant platform, Zoom, on an as-needed and as-appropriate basis for children living within the state of MN. Most children benefit more from having in-person sessions, and this option must be agreed upon by all parties based on the therapeutic recommendations of your therapist.
How often are speech therapy sessions?
Speech therapy sessions are typically provided 1-2 times per week for 45-60 minutes at a time. Every child is different and will present with different needs, so the frequency and duration of appointments will be discussed with your therapist at your first appointment.
What communities do you serve?
In Other Words, LLC, is based in Brooklyn Center, MN, and is currently providing services within a 15 mile radius. Please keep in mind that therapists are driving to and from all home-based appointments and we do our best to accommodate scheduling requests, and we appreciate any flexibility you’re able to provide on your end, as well.
Here is a list of some of the cities our therapists travel to (this list is ever-changing and ever-growing): Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Columbia Heights, Fridley, Roseville, Maple Grove, Plymouth, Crystal, Golden Valley, Hopkins, Edina, St Louis Park, Richfield, Macalaster-Groveland neighborhoods of St Paul, etc.
Contact us today to see if we are currently able to provide services in your area.
Do you accept insurance?
We are a private pay practice and do not accept insurance at this time.
We accept all major debit and credit cards, HSA/FSA cards, checks, and cash for payment options.
Insurance companies often place restrictions and barriers on the frequency and duration of visits, therapy goals, and overall quality of services. Private pay allows therapy to be focused on your child and their individual needs rather than having goals that are based on arbitrary insurance requirements.
A Super Bill may be provided monthly at the request of parents. A Super Bill is a document showing a list of services received that month and families can submit the bill to their insurance companies to see if they will reimburse you for your out-of-pocket costs. Please note that insurance companies vary and speech-language therapy, particularly in-home therapy, may or may not be a covered benefit of your insurance.
